- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. Except for one 1899 location named as “Los Pinos” in Conejos Co (probably Rio de los Pinos), there are only two other Watershed locations. One is the foothills of La Garitas (Rio Grande and Saguache counties, 2003-2004), all collected and determined by Jeanette and Kurt Flaigg, which both Ackerfield (2022) and BONAP (2022) accept. The other location is La Botica in La Jara canyon (Conejos Co, 2020), collected by Kristy Duran and shown in BONAP (2022) but not Ackerfield (2022). Note that there are records from New Mexico that lie in the Rio Grande drainage, in Rio Arriba, Taos, Santa Fe, and Torrance counties. The center of the USA range is north Arizona, southeast Utah, southwest Colorado, and northwest New Mexico. The mature fruit (pod) is needed for determination of this species.
