Comments
In the Watershed, vouchers of Virginia pepperweed have been scattered —less than 8—with none from the Cristos or the mountains north of Saguache Creek. Recent photorecords, however, suggest that Lepidium virginicum is rapidly spreading in the region. Especially fond of disturbed ground, the species is a successful plant, with records from every state of the USA, nearly as wide spread as L. densiflorum. It follows the entire length of the Rio Grande drainage, to the Gulf of Mexico.
