- Hairy whitetop is an exotic found along road sides, urban lots, and other disturbed space, so far with 19 collections from the Watershed (1933-2023). Most are from the Upper Basin, with one voucher from 5 miles northeast of Antonito (1956, Conejos Co) and one photorecord from 9 miles southwest of Alamosa (2023, Coneos Co). The presence of Lepidium appelianum in the Watershed may be more wide spread, since the species can be confused with L. draba. Hairy whitetop has spread through most of the USA west, and is labeled a "noxious weed" in many of them (but not Colorado). Its seed is sometimes mixed in with alfalfa seed. It follows the Rio Grande drainage only into Rio Arriba Co of New Mexico.
