- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. For Erysimum inconspicuum, there are seven locations around the upper Watershed, in shrubland (e.g., Baca NWR, 2013), the foothills (e.g., N of Villa Grove, 1929), or the lower montane (e.g., Rock Creek W of Monte Vista, 1936). In New Mexico, the species has been recorded on down the Rio Grande drainage to the Mexican border (but no farther), so its presence in the southern half of the San Luis Valley is likely. Its USA range is Great Basin, Rockies, and upper Midwest. Note that the differences among E. capitatum, E. repandum, and E. inconspicuum are leaf width (a matter of a few mm), leaf trichomes, and pedicel length—features not readily seen in the field.
