- Draba fladnizensis has been fairly commonly collected in the Watershed alpine, but not from the Culebras (the collection from Forbes Ranch W of La Veta Pass is unlikely, due to the low elevation of the location). This Draba does not occur in New Mexico, just in Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, and one isolated point in Montana. BONAP shows it as uncommon throughout the USA range. The most common variety collected from the Watershed is D. fladnizensis var. pattersonii. Hogan and Elliott (2022) report two specimens of Draba porslidii var. porslidii from the high mountains of the North Cristos, but these are not accepted by BONAP or Ackerfield (2022) and are more reasonably treated as D. fladnizensis var. pattersonii. Note that in the Watershed, D. fladnizensis is the only draba with white petals and glabrous fruit and stems. It is also slight and very small (usually less than 4 inches high) and prefers open alpine slopes.
