- Golden draba is common in the mountains, from montane to tundra, on both sides of the Valley. Its USA distribution is primarily the Rocky Mouontains, up to the Canadian border and about two-thirds of the way down the Rio Grande drainage of New Mexico. Allred, Jercinovic, and Ivey (2020) note that Drava aurea is a polyploid with genes possibly from D. helleriana and D. streptocarpa, which may contribute to the difficulties in distinguishing these three Watershed species.
