- In the Watershed, cutleaf tansymustard is a common plant that ranges from basin to tundra on both sides of the Valley. There are no collections from the Culebras, but it is commonly collected from the Cristos in northern New Mexico. It is wide spread in every state west of the Great Plains, and follows the Rio Grande drainage through New Mexico into (rarely) far west Texas. Note that this species is highly variable, due in part to hybridization with species of Descurainia growing in the same region, and sometimes cannot be distinguished from D. longepedicellata or D. incana with confidence.
