- Comments
- For Boechera retrofracta, a sexual diploid, there are three records in the Watershed: in the foothills of the north Cristos SW of the Great Sand Dunes (1991); between Baldy Mt and the Rio Grande, SW of Creede (2003); on the Crestone Lake trail 1 mile E of Creston (2015). In iNaturalist there are no observations of the species in the Watershed (as of Nov 2024). B. retrofracta can be distinguished from other Watershed rockcresses by its leaves usually with auriculate bases and its strongly reflexed fruit. According to BONAP, B. retrofracta is found in all USA states west of the Great Plains except for Arizona. BONAP also shows it from Rio Arriba and Taos counties of New Mexico, bordering the Colorado Watershed, but Allred et al. (2020) do not find it in New Mexico.
