- The Watershed has only four locations for Boechera oxylobula, all from the mountains in the west of the Valley: Poso Creek Road (Saguache Co, 2003); near Trickle Mountain west of Saguache (Saguache Co, 2004); 5 miles W of Villa Grove; and near Middle San Francisco Creek trailhead in the San Juans 10 miles S of Del Norte (2018-2022). The older records often refer to this taxon as Boechera demissa. Windham and Al-Shehbaz, however, found the holotype of B. demissa identical to B. oxylobula. B. oxylobula is distinguished from other Watershed rockcresses by its non-auriculate stem leaf bases, widely spaced stem leaves, stem glabrous except for the lower part, 2-5 stems rising from the lateral parts of the rosette, and basal leaves 1 to 2.5 mm wide. The species is sexual, endemic to Colorado, and often collected from the west slope. For more photographs and comments, click "yes" in the Annotated field below.
