- O. suffruticosa var. jamesii [or var. suffruticosa], known from a few collections in the Colorado Plains, has not often been found in the Watershed. The evidence is hard to interpret given the absence of a clear distinction between it and O. suffruticosa var. pustulosa. There are occurrences E of the town of Saguache; around Monte Vista; beside Hwy 160 E of Alamosa; and E of Manassa. Ackerfield also shows Conejos Co, with no vouchers in SEINet. This variety follows the Rio Grande drainage down through New Mexico all the way to Val Verde Co, Texas.
