- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. Bessey's stickweed is not often collected from in the Watershed, with four locations in the north Cristos, from Hayden Creek (Saguache Co) south to Forbes Park (Costilla Co), 1998-1999. The Costilla Co location, west of La Veta Pass, was along railroad tracks. Nonetheless, the USA distribution of Hackelia besseyi is centered in the Rio Grande drainage, with locations proceeding down through New Mexico (mainly east of the Continental Divide) to Mexico and on down the drainage to the Big Bend country of Texas.
