- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. The Watershed has only five records of Cryptantha crassisepala: three from around Valley View Hot Springs in the north Cristos foothills; and two from alluvial plains and foothills in Costilla. This catseye is probably more common in the Watershed than this record suggests (it requires close examination of the nutlet for determination). Its USA range is Arizona, Utah, Colorado, and New Mexico, where is is common and follows the Rio Grande drainage from north to south, carrying on east to the Texas Big Bend country.
