- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. For Townsendia rothrockii the west side of the Watershed has two locations: around Stony Pass (San Juan Co, 1983, 1994, 2005, 2007, 2017, 2020) and Sheep Mountain (San Juan Co, 2004, 2021). On the east there is only one location: 6 miles above Taylor Ranch in the Culebras (Costilla Co, 1949). This is an uncommon alpine Townsendia, endemic to southern Colorado, found only in the central mountains and the west slope. Note that FNA suggests that T. rothrockii and T. glabella may be conspecific.
