- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. Townsendia leptotes has two Watershed records, both from Conejos Co: La Manga Pass (1985) and Conejos River, 2 miles SW of Hidden Lake (1986). In the USA there are scattered locations in Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, west Colorado, and northwest New Mexico (including Rio Arriba and Taos counties). T. leptotes looks much like the more common T. exscapa, the first having phyllaries more squat in shape and ray ligules also a bit shorter. L. leptotes may be more common in the Watershed than the scant collections suggest.
