- Horned dandelion has been collected fairly often in Watershed tundra, on both sides of the Valley—occasionally on sparsely grassed subalpine meadows and among scree. The latest observation is from near the headwaters of Manga Creek in Conejos Co (2020, iNaturalist #55972903). Taraxum ceratophorum has been found in both the north and south drainage of the Rio Grande in New Mexico, down to Otero Co (but not farther into Texas). In the USA its main range is the Rockies all the way north into Montana. See the FNA entry for an account of the bewildering tangle of synonyms and varieties that are associated with this dandelion.
