NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. Costmary has two records from the Watershed: one near Center (1948), and one in the north section of the town of Alamosa (1994). Both were associated with old gardens. Its Old World uses as an herbal remedy date back to medieval times. It was sometimes the habit to use a Tanacetum balsamita leaf as a marker in the Bible, hence the common name "Bible leaf." There are scattered records of it escaping throughout the northern USA. The Watershed locations are the only ones for the entire Rio Grande drainage.
