- Comments
- In the Watershed, panicled aster is mainly a Basin plant, with extensions into the foothills, for instance at Del Norte and Rock Creek (Rio Grande Co), SW of Creede (Mineral Co), and Forbes Park (Costilla Co). The Colorado species is Symphyotrichum lanceolatum subsp. hesperium. S. lanceolatum is recorded from every state in the USA, and follows the Rio Grande drainage through New Mexico to Jeff Davis and Culberson counties in Texas. Note that it is not easy to distinguish Symphyotrichum lanceolatum from S. foliaceum.
