- NEED IN SITU PHOTOGRAPHS. In the Watrshed, northern bog aster has only one collection: the San Luis Lakes area in Alamosa Co (1991), with habitat described as "wetland margins." Elsewhere in Colorado, the plant grows in very wet habitats in the mountains, and is uncommon. Symphyogrichum boreale is primarily a northern USA plant, and the Alamosa Co record (which is not accepted by BONAP) would mark its southernmost extension and the only observation from the entire Rio Grande drainage.
