- YES Rich Haswell: Rio Grande Co, by slough of the Rio Grande near Del Norte 11 Aug 2018
- Comments
- Currently there are total of four records of common cow thistle in the Watershed: Quintana Ranch 5 miles W of San Luis (1994); Baca NWR (2013); a slough of the Rio Grande just N of Del Norte (2018); and Monte Vista NPR (2020, iNaturalist observation #58188963—all habitats wet and weedy meadow or pasture. Sonchus oleraceus, not as wide spread as S. asper, still has spread to nearly all USA states, and runs the length of the Rio Grande to the Gulf of Mexico. More observations should be expect in the Colorado Watershed.
