- Comments
- There are only six Watershed records of tall goldenrod: one in Monte Vista (1965), another in Forbes Park (1999), a third southwest of Creede (2003), a fourth along Hwy 17 between Mogote and Aspen Glade campground (2015), a fifth from a montane forest southwest of South Fork (2003), a sixth in La Botica of La Jara canyon (2013), and a sevemth near the parking area for a new park in Del Norte (2022). Most were from ruderal ground or near or along roads or railways. Note that Canadian goldenrod, Solidago canadensis, sometimes mistaken for S. altissima, is not present in Colorado. S. altissima has very scattered locations in the New Mexico and Texas Rio Grande drainage. There is a record from Cameron Co, Texas, where the Rio Grande flows into the Gulf. S. altissima is widespread throughout the eastern USA, Great Plains, on into the Southern Rockies and mountain regions of Arizona.
