Comments
The only Watershed voucher for common groundsel was provided by Hobie Dixon in 1988, from a planter at the Alamosa County Court House in Alamosa. Yet Senecio vulgaris has been recorded for several years in alleys and flower gardens in Del Norte (2014-2020). Ackerfield and BONAP show Saguache Co with no vouchers in SEINet. Probably this exotic occurs in other Watershed towns, just not collected. It is recorded from every state in the USA, with concentration on the West coast. It has been observed in the Rio Grande drainage down to Doña Ana Co in New Mexico, as well as Dimmit co in Texas—probably it could be found in flower beds and alley margins throughout the entire length of the drainage.
