- In the Waterwhed arrowleaf ragwort is common in wet montane and subalpine meadows on both sides of the Valley, sometimes growing in great patches and in association with Salix spp. It is present in all mountain ranges of the USA West. The farthest south in the Rio Grande drainage that the species has been recorded is from the Sacramento Mountains of south New Mexico.
