- This dwarf ragwort of the tundra is common on open slopes of subalpine and alpine zones, recorded from all mountain regions of the Watershed. This is a western USA species, and Colorado and New Mexico mark its south-eastern limits. It follows the Rio Grande drainage only as far as Santa Fe Co, New Mexico. Our species belongs to var. blitoides, which is sometimes accorded species status as Senecio blitoides'
