- Lanceleaf goldenweed is an alkali loving plant, not uncommon in the Upper and Lower Basins of the Watershed. It is fond of the edges of playas and lakes and does adapt to disturbed ground. The Watershed collections mark the very SE corner of this goldenweed's USA distribution, which covers all Western states except for Washington, Arizona, and New Mexico. So Pyrrocoma lanceolata occurs nowhere else in the Rio Grande drainage other than the Colorado Watershed.
