NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. There is one record of Nabalus racemosa in the Watershed, near Groundhog Park on CR 650 at 11,700’ feet elevation, in disturbed soil, “edge of cowpath at edge of wet Carex meadow” (Saguache Co, 1984). Rattle-snake root is a distinctive plant hard to misidentify. There are scattered records of it from Archuleta Co on north through central Colorado and Wyoming, most of them from the Front Range. This is a population disjunct from the main USA range, which is northern Great Plains and Midwest. The Watershed record would be the unique location of this species in the entire Rio Grande drainage.
