- The Watershed collection of Packera streptanthifolia is robust, but there are no records from the north Cristos, and only two from the Culebras. Yet the species is heavily collected from the northern Cristos of New Mexico. P. streptanthifolia prefers somewhat mesic habitats—banks of creeks and ponds, meadow slopes, Populus glades, etc. It is present in such habitats in all Western states, and follows the Rio Grande drainage as far south as Sierra Co, New Mexico (but no farther). Note that Hogan and Elliot (2022) found a few locations on the eastern slopes of the North Cristos. Following Weber and Wittmann, they treat P. streptanthifolia and P. oödes as separate species.
