Comments
Packera multilobata is uncommon in the Watershed, with only four records: San Luis Lakes SWA (1930, 1991); Hat Springs (Conejos Co, 1976); Cochetopa pass (Saguache Co, 1987); and 13 miles SW of South Fork (Rio Grande Co, 2003). In Colorado, the species is primary a west-slope plant, and in the USA it abounds in central and southern Western states. It has been recorded from Rio Arriba and Taos counties of New Mexico, and then farther down the Rio Grande drainage in Otero Co, the farthest down stream the species goes. Note that this is a variable species, whose distinctive features (e.g., hairiness of leaves) change with the habitat.
