- Platte groundsel is common in the Watershed ranges east and west, found in meadows, rocky outcrops, and forest openings. There have been no collections of Packera fendleri from the Culebras, although many from the Cristos in New Mexico. Its USA range is mostly confined to the Central and Southern Rockies. It is present in the Rio Grande drainage through all of New Mexico to the tip of west Texas (Jeff Davis Co).
