- In the Watershed, Parry's goldenrod has been often collected in all mountain regions, from upper foothills through the montane and occasionally into the subalpine. It prefers meadows and forest openings. In the USA, parryi is the only species of Oreochrysum, and found mainly in Arizona, Utah, Colorado, and New Mexico. It follows the Rio Grande drainage to the border of Mexico (Otero Co, New Mexico), but no farther down stream. Note that taxonimists found it hard to place this distictive species.
