- Comments
- Except for one 1900 record from West Indian Creek in the Culebras, collections of this distinctive Hymenopappus are all from the western mountains of the Watershed north of the Rio Grande. Hymenopappus newberryi has not been vouchered from Rio Grande or Conejos counties, yet it has been collected from the San Juans in New Mexico. The flower has a liking for road embankments. In the USA, it is endemic to Colorado and New Mexico, where it follows the Rio Grande drainage to the Mexican border. It is not found farther down the drainage.
