NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. There is only one Watershed record of Hymenopappus flavescens , “by radio tower on road to Zapata Falls, N of Blanca" (Brian Elliott coll, 1998). One would expect more collections from the Watershed. Allred et al. (2020) report it from all counties of New Mexico except for Santa Fe Co. It follows the Rio Grande drainage to Big Bend, Texas. Some collections of H. filifolius in the Watershed may be H. flavescens, the definitive differences between the two species not readily apparent: branching of taproots and location of long hairs on the cypselae.
