- Comments
- Grindelia decumbens is he most common Grindelia in the south part of the Watershed, native but also a familiar sight in the street verges, alleys, and vacant lots of Valley towns such as Del Norte. There are no records for the La Garitas or the south Sawatch regions. Except for a few uncommon records from the Rio Grande drainage in northern New Mexico, this species of gumweed is restricted to south Colorado. Ackerfield treats it as G. hirsutula var. decumbens. BONAP , however, indicates that G. hirsutula not present in Colorado, although other authorities place it there. The distinction between G. decumbens and G. hirsutula is by no means settled.
