- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. There are only two Watershed records of Grindelia arizonica, one from the cemetery in Creede (Mineral Co, 1989), the other from a farm NW of Alamosa (Alamosa Co, 1988). These are out of the normal range of the species (Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, and southwest Colorado). There are many collections from Archuleta Co, just across the Continental Divide, and occurrences may be expected in the Rio Chama drainage and even in Conejos Co. This gumweed has been recorded from Rio Arriba Co in New Mexico, where it follows the Rio Grande drainage down to the Mexican border, but no farther.
