- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. For this high-elevation fleabane, usually found in alpine scree, the Watershed has two records, both from both sides of the Valley in Saguache Co: the north Cristos, west of Crestone, Hayden Creek (1998); and off Hwy 114, east of North Pass (2003). BONAP shows Mineral CO, with no vouchers in SEINet. Weber and Wittmann, and Ackerfield apparently treat this species as a variety Erigeron acris, but BONAP, FNA, and Allred et al. (2020) accept the name E. nivalis. A few collections from Colfax, Sandoval, and Socorro counties in New Mexico, mark the end of the Rio Grande drainage specimen and southeast corner of the USA range, which covers the Rocky Mountains up to the Canadian border and the Pacific Sierras and Cascades.
