- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. There is one Watershed record of Erigeron bellidiastrum, 2003, Saguache Co, Valley View Hot Springs, "by pool in Quercus gambelli thicket.” Judging from the herbarium digital image, this specimen could be Erigeron canus. A recent iNaturalist observation, 6 June 2021, is determined as E. bellidiastrum, but definitive proof is lacking (foothills in between Del Norte and La Garita, Saguache Co, iNaturalist #81867702). Differentiating between E. bellidiastrum and E. divergens requires comparison of pappi. On the other hand, a Watershed location for E. bellidiastrum makes distributional sense. There are records from locations bordering the Watershed to the east, north, and southwest, and the species follows the Rio Grande drainage in New Mexico from Rio Arriba and Taos counties down to the border with Mexico and farther long into west Texas. E. bellidiastrum has been recorded from the Great Plains west to Wyoming, Utah, and Arizona.
