- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. For Bidens laevis BONAP shows Alamos Co, with no vouchers in SEINet. Is this a re-identification of B. frondosa, B. vulgata, or B. cernua? There is also an observation in iNaturalist (20 Aug 2020, Conejos Co or Costilla Co, observation #59467978), a plant found along the Rio Grande less than a mile north of the New Mexico border—but the dermination is questionable; the plant could be B. tripartita). Note that determination of Bidens laevis requires inspection of the achene and the chaff of the corolla receptacle. This beggarticks has been recorded, in a few locations, along the Rio Grande of southern New Mexico and Texas, from El Paso Co nearly to the Gulf.
