- There are twelve locations for this beautiful, lemon-scented, high-altitude artemisia. Almost all come from the west mountains of the Valley, with one record from Cherry Creek in the north Cristos. Sharples (2017) record it as "uncommon on rocky sites" south of Platoro (Conejos Co, 2013-2014). Ackerfield (2022) shows Alamosa Co, with no vouchers in SEINet. (Note that the SEINet record of Artemisia michauxiana from Cuchara Pass, between Huerfano and Las Animas counties, is incorrectly listed as Costilla Co.) The Watershed marks the SE corner of the USA distribution, which includes mountains in all states west of the Plains except for Arizona and New Mexico.
