- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. There is one record of sticky-leaf arnica in the Watershed: west of Platoro, Conejos Co, 1945. The identiication seems unlikely given the distribution of the plant in Colorado. BONAP shows a concentration of A. ovata in the north central counties of Colorado. The location closest to the Watershed is Chaffee Co. This is a Western USA plant, and the Platoro occurrence would mark its extreme SW edge. Note that Ackerfield (2022) subsumes A. ovata under A. mollis, a decision with little support from specialists.
