- After Arnica cordifolia, A. mollis is the most collected arnica from the Watershed, from the west side and from the North Cristos. It’s been repeatedly found around Lobo Point overlooking Wolf Creek Pass from the north. Arnica mollis is a common montane and subalpine arnica of the USA West. Its elliptic leaves, short-plumose bristles of the cypselae, and amber-like deposits on the pappus tips are its most distinguishing features. Except for records from Taos Co in New Mexico (borderng Colorado), the Watershed marks the southeastern corner of its USA distribution.
