- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. Umber pussytoes has been frequently recorded from the alpine and subalpine on both sides of the Valley, most often in the south San Juans. There very few collections from La Garitas and none from the Sawatch range. The plant is recorded from all USA states west of the Great Plains except for New Mexico, although there are Colorado locations in all counties contingent to New Mexico.
