- There are less than 15 records of Antennaria anaphaloides, from locations scattered around the Watershed; e.g., Raspberry Canyon in the north Cristos (Saguache Co, 1998), Alamosa River 10 miles ENE of Platoro (Conejos Co, 2013), West Indian Creek (Costilla Co, 1900), Park Creek (Mineral Co, 1984), near Rio Chama (Archuleta Co 2013). As the specific epithet alludes, this pussytoes can easily be confused with the better known pearly everlasting, Anaphalis margaritaceae. Also the distinction between Antennaria anaphaloides and A. pulcherrima relies on small differences, such as the color of the base of the involucral bracts. The Watershed records mark the southeastern corner of the USA distribution, which is roughly the Rocky Mountains up to the Canadian border.
