- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. There are two areas of the Watershed where great ragweed has been found: in the lower slopes of the north Cristos, from Medano Canyon down to Forbes Park (Saguache and Costilla counties); and near Los Mogotes (Conejos Co). Some of the specimens in the Adams State Herbarium seem to be A. trifida var. trifida, with undivided leaves. BONAP shows Mineral Co, with no vouchers in SEINet. The species is recorded from Rio Arriba, Taos, and Colfax counties of New Mexico, and follows the Rio Grande drainage, spottily, down to the Gulf. In the USA it is the dominant ragweed of the Great Plains on E.
