- For western ragweed there are only two Watershed locations: a voucher, “Stream terrace, along Rio Grande River, behind Cottonwood Cove, Wagonwheel Gap,” with two specimens (1981, Mineral Co); and a photorecord from the dam to Trujillo Reservoir (2022, Conejos Co). The photorecord would add Conejos to counties indicated in Ackerfield (2022) and BONAP (2022). In Colorado Ambrosia psilostachya is predominantly a Plains plant, with also many collections from just west of the Watershed in Mineral and Archuleta counties. It often takes advantage of ruderal habitats, and more observations may be expected from the Watershed. It is present in all but one county of New Mexico, and follows the Rio Grande drainage down to the Gulf. This is a central USA and desert Southwest plant, adventive eastward.
