- Spreading dogbane is found on both sides of the Valley, but not as commonly on the east side. It is probably present in the Culebras—although not yet recorded from there—judging from the many collections from the Rio Grande Cristos of New Mexico. It is common throughout the USA except for the central Great Plains, Texas, and the deep South. It follows the Rio Grande down to the Big Bend country of Texas.
