- By far, blunt sweet cicely is the most common Osmorhiza in the Watershed, both west and east, found in forest understory. The USA range of the western Rockies considerably overlaps with O. berteroi, from which O. depauperata is distinguished by the blunt tip of its frluit (hence its common name). The farthest down stream this species has been found in the Rio Grande drainage is Sierra Co, New Mexico.
