- Bill's parsley is common in its eco-niche, which is rocky, volcanic slopes of the foothills, although mainly on the west side of the Valley. Hogan and Elliot (2023) found it on Methodist Mountain, in the Arkansas River drainage of the north Cristos. The Lower Basin location is in the San Luis Hills. Neoparrya lithophila is endemic to the upper Rio Grande drainage, and would be to the Colorado portion of that drainage except for a few collections from the South Piñon Hills of Taos Co in New Mexico, just south of the Colorado line. Note that key character of "reflexed rays" applies only to more mature plants (most obvious in seed) and only to a few, lower rays of the umbel.
