- Forest goosefoot has been often collected in the foothills and montane of the Watershe, on both sides of the Valley, but not from the Culebras (although it should be expected there). Rather large plants can be found in montane woods. On occasion it shows up in urban yards. Chenopodium fremontii has many observations from the Cristos of New Mexico, where it follows the Rio Grande drainage from north to south, and on down through the Big Bend country of Texas.
