- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. There is only one record from the Watershed: Cotton Lake in the north Cristos (Saguache Co, 1942). Although the onion is common in the Front Range, it has not been recorded there above 8,500' (Ackerfield) and the elevation of Cotton Lake is 11,500'. The record is probably a misidentification of Allium geyeri (William Jennings, personal communication). This species of wild onion has been recorded from Rio Arriba and Taos counties of New Mexico, and might be expected a bit farther north in Conejos Co of the Watershed.
