- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. Tapertip onion has been recorded only four times from the Watershed: Wolf Creek pass (Mineral Co); E of Monte Vista (Rio Grande Co); head of the South Fork of Carnero Creek (Saguache Co); Cave Creek (Saguache Co). It is much more commonly collected from the San Juan drainage. The Watershed locations fall at the southeastern corner of the USA distribution, which includes all states west of the Great Plains. The species does not continue on down the Rio Grande drainage in New Mexico.
