- White pine is wide-spread in the montane on both sides of the Valley. Surprisingly there are no vouchers for Abies concolor in the Culebras south of Veta Pass, although it is commonly recorded from the Cristos of New Mexico. White fir is now a staple in the lumber industry of the Valley, although operations are more common on the west side. Abies concolor is present in all mountain regions of the USA West except for the Northern and much of the Central Rockies.
